Show Notes
Faced with the decision - Do I stay or do I go home, Lacey McLaughlin chose to stay. Living in Mexico during the height of COVID-19 Lacey would soon discover that choosing to ride out the worldwide pandemic from the beachside town of Playa del Carmen would be the best decision she could have ever made. There was not wide-spread panic nor a shortage of toilet paper, but rather plenty of tacos and beautiful beaches.
Lacey McLaughlin is a digital nomad, choosing to operate her writing and brand strategy business from anywhere with a good internet connection and a beautiful view. Her love for traveling was spurred at a young age, traveling to places like Africa and South America with her youth group. But on her 30th birthday, Lacey would find herself hiking Peru's Machu Picchu with a small group of complete strangers. This grueling yet somehow empowering experience set fire to something inside of her.
I had the pleasure to catch up with Lacey while she was still living in Playa del Carmen, Mexico where she spoke about what life had been like during the height of COVID-19. She also spoke openly about her passion for experiencing the world's cultures. Come along as I have a wonderful conversation about life and travel with Lacey McLaughlin!
*The book Lacey mentioned is, Travel as a Political Act by Rick Steves.
