SPEAKER_01: Yo, are you ready to flip the script on life?

Because those bad days, they're just doors to better days.

And that's exactly what we do here at Grit Grace and Inspiration.

Your host, Kevin Lowe.

He's been flipping the script on his own life, turning over 20 years of being completely blind into straight up inspiration, motivation, and encouragement just for you.

So kick back, relax, and let me introduce you to your host, Kevin Lowe.

SPEAKER_00: Last week on the podcast, I introduced you to Rich Ingram, an amazing guy who had a story of raw resilience.

While serving in the National Guard fighting in the Middle East, he would have honestly the unthinkable happen.

In a tragic accident, he would lose his arm.

But with his resilience, his desire to thrive in life, he inspired us all with his story.

If you didn't hear it, well then maybe let this be your opportunity to go back and listen to it.

That was inside of episode 303.

But today, it's not about Rich.

Instead, it's about you.

Because today, I'm here to help you see your challenges as stepping stones.

And more importantly, I want you to realize the incredible power that you have within yourself to overcome life's challenges, to turn those challenges into opportunities, and to start thriving in life just like we were inspired by Rich Ingram.

As you listen to today's episode, I want you to remember this.

If you would love help in implementing what I'm talking about, if you would love to have somebody to talk about your ideas with, to figure out what's in the way of you thriving in life, well, it's your perfect opportunity because I still have going on the summer special where I'm offering free 30-minute one-on-one coaching sessions all summer long.

All you have to do to grab your spot is to text Summer 2024.

That is all one word, no spaces, Summer2024 to the phone number 33777.

Do not miss this opportunity.

So, first up on the list is seeing your challenges as stepping stones.

When I lost my eyesight when I was 17 years old, that was over 20 years ago.

I felt like my life had ended.

Matter of fact, it would indeed impact my life, who I was, who I turned out to be from that day forward.

But here's the important thing is that being blind, it does not define me.

That is not who I am.

It's a part of my story, but it's not my whole story.

Just like whatever you're going through in your own life, it's a part of your story, but it does not define who you are.

Our buddy Rich Ingram, he certainly did not allow him becoming an amputee to define who he was or what he could do.

No, matter of fact, two weeks after getting his bandages off, he was already diving into a triathlon.

And then it wouldn't be too long after that he was realizing, you know what?

Why can't I go back into the service?

And darn it if he wouldn't do just that.

The biggest thing here is he didn't allow it to define him.

He didn't allow it to hold him back.

He instead decided to push forward and to redefine what is possible or what people thought was possible.

I want you to think of your challenges the same way, to see your challenges as stepping stones, leading you on the path you are headed.

If you were able to start to see life in a different view, where these challenges you endure are stepping stones, how would you wake up differently tomorrow?

Now, I want to get real because I understand what I'm trying to say here is easier said than done.

If somebody had told me soon after becoming blind that this challenge, me becoming blind, was going to someday be my greatest opportunity, quite possibly I would have liked to punch them in the face.

So I want you to understand that I don't want you to mistake what I'm saying for taking what you're going through lightly, because I understand that life is ridiculously tough.

And the things that we all go through are honestly things that I wish none of us ever had to go through.

But in hindsight, knowing what I know today, I can look back on my own story, on my own life, and I can see how it all has kind of fit together like a puzzle.

How all these little challenges I've endured, they've been stepping stones, leading me on the path that I was meant to live, creating me into the man that I've become.

And I believe the same is true for you.

So I'm here today trying to help to be that person who's been through it, who's talking to you, who's maybe in the thick of it, letting you know that at some point, when you're ready, you can begin to flip the script on life, turning those bad days into good days.

I promise one day, soon enough, you'll begin to see your challenges not as limitations, but instead as opportunities to grow stronger, to become more resilient, to honestly identify who you really and truly are in this life.

Just imagine this, my friend.

Imagine waking up tomorrow with the mindset that you're gonna win today.

You're gonna crush it, that it's gonna be the best day ever, no matter what obstacle you're faced with when you wake up.

That mindset, my friend, has a possibility of changing everything.

If you can go to bed tonight with the idea in your head that tomorrow, I'm gonna crush it.

I'm gonna win the day.

It's not just gonna be an ordinary day.

No, I'm gonna find ways to turn the bad into good.

I'm gonna figure out how to harness this quote unquote disability and turn it into my superpower.

When you can begin to see the hardest thing that you've been through as the stepping stone to your greatest victory, that is when peace can be found.

So now here's the part where I really want you to start envisioning exactly what this is gonna look like.

You're gonna wake up tomorrow morning and you're gonna decide that today is the day that I stop allowing life to push me around.

Today is the day that you start fighting back.

You are not broken.

You are powerful beyond belief.

You have the inspiration of today's podcast, and you have the empowerment by Rich to keep you moving forward no matter what.

I want you right this moment to recognize this, my friend.

You are so much stronger, more resilient, more amazing than you give yourself credit for.

Quite possibly, right now, you probably would say that you're not a strong person.

That maybe you don't think very highly of yourself.

Well, can I tell you something?

If you're listening to this podcast, that's totally wrong.

Because inside of you is greatness.

You were made for greatness because you are amazing just as you are.

So right now, take a deep breath.

Fill your chest with that air, and I want you to realize wow, this is me.

Let it out, let a roar loose, and let your resilience come through.

The purpose of today is to remind you, your challenges do not define you.

Instead, your resiliency, your courage, that is what defines you.

It's not what happens, but rather how we react to it, what we do with it.

How we're able to flip the script, turning the bad into good.

That is what people remember us for.

So, whatever you have going on in life today, I hope that today can give you that little bit of inspiration you needed to start to see things from a different angle.

I'm not saying that it's all gonna be easy.

I'm not saying that this means that every day is gonna be great.

No, it's life.

Some days are better than others.

But at least if you can go into tomorrow, the next day, next week, next month, with the mindset that I'm gonna turn my challenges into opportunities.

I'm gonna figure out how I can harness this challenge and turn it into good.

I'm telling you right now, it has the potential of completely changing the game from this day forward.

With that, my friend, I hope the rest of your day is absolutely amazing.

If today's episode made you think of somebody, please share it with them.

Let them be inspired.

And maybe together you both can encourage each other, cheering each other on.

We all need a cheerleader.

That's what exactly what I hope to do here on the podcast is to be your cheerleader.

But maybe you got a friend who needs to hear it also, and the two of you can work together to complete both of your goals.

The more we do together, the more we're going to succeed in this life.

My friend, get out there and crush it.

Win the day every day.

This is Kevin Lowe with Grit Grayson Inspiration.

I'll see you next time.
